🌸 What is a period?
Every month your body gets the uterus ready in case of a pregnancy. When that isn't needed, the lining comes away and leaves the body as blood through the vagina. That's your period — completely normal and healthy.
📅 How long is a cycle?
Count from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. In the first few years, cycles can be anywhere from about 21 to 45 days and can jump around — that's why tracking helps.
🎒 What should be in my bag?

Is the Dotty app free?
The Dotty journal and tracker is being finalised now. Join the list below and you'll be first to know the moment it launches.
Where is my information stored?
Only on your own device. The app works without an account and nothing you log is sent to us or anyone else.
Are care packs a subscription?
No. Every care pack is a once-off purchase. Order again whenever you need to — nothing renews automatically.
What is the teacher card?
A card she hands to her teacher that says she started her period and who to call to collect her — no awkward explanations needed. It comes printed in every kit, or buy the PDF for R25 and print it at home.
How do reusable pads work?
Wear like a normal pad and snap the wings around her undies. After use, fold it into the wet bag, then at home rinse in cold water, wash and dry fully. With care they last 2–3 years — kinder to the planet and your budget.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are packed within 2 working days and delivered by courier across South Africa, usually within 3–5 working days.
Can I return a care pack?
For hygiene reasons opened products can't be returned. If anything arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days and we'll make it right. See our returns policy.
